American Constitution Society seeks an experienced Director to lead the Policy and Program Department’s rule of law efforts. The Director will coordinate legal policy work, balance power between government branches, and oversee conferences and live programming. This role requires a J.D.

and 4–7 years of experience, with strong analytical and writing abilities. The position reports to the VP of Policy and Program and offers a flexible remote policy while being based in Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with 4–7 years of professional experience.
• Familiarity with constitutional and other legal scholarship.
• Outstanding analytic, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Formulate and advance a progressive vision of the law that is sound and practically relevant.
• Moderate and speak on panels; provide substantive direction for ACS and respond to media inquiries.
• Coordinate with outside experts on publications and projects.
• Develop and oversee execution of conferences and live programming.
