Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States, with the preferred location in Raleigh, NC. It requires 25% travel.

This position is responsible for managing, researching, and implementing responses to all regulatory provisions affecting the Bank. It involves creating and maintaining open communication with primary financial regulators, managing regulatory examinations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations while aligning with the Bank's risk appetite. The role includes managing a team, processes, and programs, driving high-quality results, and meeting regulatory deadlines. It also involves communicating regulatory implications to executive management and developing responses.

Responsibilities

  • Risk Reporting - Oversee regulatory exams, reviews, and monitoring activities, ensuring effective communication of complex information to regulators. Support responses and tracking of supervisory issues. Manage regulatory technology platforms.
  • Business Support - Guide and train associates interacting with regulators, monitor regulatory activities, and provide risk expertise to business stakeholders. Serve as an advisor for supervisory responses and communicate requirements and timelines.
  • Collaboration - Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry peers, and risk management bodies. Establish influential relationships with senior leadership to achieve objectives. Manage program activities for effective collaboration.
  • Managerial Functions - Set expectations to meet company and department goals. Adjust policies and procedures as needed. Manage staff performance, training, and development to maximize department achievements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Enterprise or Operational Risk, Internal Audit, Project Management, or Compliance related to Financial Institution Regulatory Relations, OR High School Diploma/GED with 14 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Area of Study: Business, Risk Management.

Preferred Experience: Banking.

Skills include knowledge of financial sector regulatory practices, risk management models, project management, effective communication, policy development, and resolution of complex inquiries involving multiple stakeholders.
