Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced Senior Insurance and Risk Management professional to oversee risk management and insurance placements for enterprise services across Turner’s operations.

You will lead strategy, evaluate quotes, manage coverages, partner with brokers and carriers, and guide colleagues through complex contracts while ensuring alignment with business needs and market conditions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in insurance, risk management or claims with construction focus.
  • Broker, Insurance Consultant, or Public Adjuster license required; or a valid JD.
  • CPCU, ARM or similar designation preferred.
  • Strong contracts and insurance document knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead risk management strategy for enterprise services, insurance coverages and programs.
  • Review quotes for insurance placements; present analysis and recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop and manage coverage needs; assess impact of business needs on coverage and renewals.
  • Forge partnerships with internal stakeholders, brokers and carriers.
  • Lead discussions to understand business models and risks; evaluate existing programs for applicability.
  • Create and maintain risk registers; work with partners to mitigate and transfer risk.
  • Participate in broker and client stewardship meetings; bind coverage within authority.
  • Advise on evolving ventures and align risks with coverage; serve as SME on technical programs.

This position can be performed from any of the company's U.S. offices.

Position Description

Oversee, lead, and direct risk management efforts and insurance placements for internal stakeholders regarding Turner's enterprise services, including Turner departments and subsidiaries.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy of risk management efforts, insurance coverages and program development for and Enterprise Services groups.
  • Analyze, review, and approve quotes for insurance placements within approval authority; present analysis and make recommendations to leadership for placements outside approval authority.
  • Develop, recommend, and manage coverage needs and proactively assess impact of evolving company business needs on coverage, market conditions, and program renewals.
  • Foster relationships and build partnerships with internal stakeholders, insurance brokers and carriers.
  • Lead business discussion to understand business models and unique risk management needs for new business ventures and unique projects; evaluate existing insurance programs for applicability for identified risks.
  • Create and maintain risk register to understand impact on profitability and work with insurance partners to mitigate, manage, and/or transfer risk.
  • Participate in all broker and client stewardship meetings.
  • Authority to bind insurance coverage independently and within approved authority for company.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to assess evolving business ventures, ensuring alignment between potential risks and appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on technical insurance programs and serve as escalation contact for questions.
  • Support Turner's annual insurance programs and project insurance placements as needed.
  • Contribute technical content for insurance training materials.
  • Participate in industry events, represent company and set standards as industry leader.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, BusinessAdministrationor similar program; and a minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance or risk management or claims with emphasis on construction; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Broker, Insurance Consultant, or Public Adjuster license required, and/or valid JD with law license, required
  • Risk management CPCU, ARM or similar insurance designation, preferred
  • Construction industry risk management experience, desired
  • Firm understanding of contracts and insurance documents
  • Align complex business needs with insurance market trends
  • Demonstrate executive level negotiation and influencing skills
  • Build engaging partnerships with team and organizational stakeholders through trust, teamwork and direct communication
  • Advanced executive level presentation skills, anticipate needs of technical and non-technical audiences and tailor communications appropriately
  • Advanced project leadership skills, able to manage concurrent complex projects and tasks successfully to completion
  • Critical organizational analysis skills with high analytical problem-solving skills
  • Advanced at processing and breaking down data into actionable information and presenting solutions
  • Leader with organizational management skills, capable of directing, managing, and developing regional teams
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft suite of applications, MS Outlook, and insurance-based risk management information systems
  • Regular travel; travel modes include air, train, vehicle, and international travel as needed
