The Role

Outreach.io is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Director, Revenue Accounting to join our Revenue Operations team. In this role, you will be involved in daily revenue operations and improvement for automation. You will also participate in the global revenue process, including assisting with contract review, month-end close procedures, and the preparation of ASC 606 compliance analyses. You will be a strong partner to the GTM team when it comes to process improvements and designing future deal offerings, coaching on downstream billing implications, and certain GTM revenue strategies.

The ideal candidate is an experienced CPA (or with equivalent practical experience) with at least 8-12 years of progressively responsible experience at either a Big 4 public accounting firm or a high-tech organization with a minimum of 2 years in a revenue specific role. You should have experience from a global SaaS company. Due to the fast-paced and high growth nature, the candidate must be detail oriented, have the ability to operate effectively and a willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Location: We’re looking to hire this person hybrid in Seattle or Atlanta, or remote within the US.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Broad oversight of Quote-to-Cash processes for Finance organization. Key strategic partner with Go-to-Market organization to marry downstream finance processes with sales and marketing strategy.
  • Manage the revenue and quote-to-cash operations including order management, billings, collections, etc.
  • Guide the strategy and craft the policy around payment frequency, billing terms, partner marketplace transactions, etc.
  • Partner closely with the business systems teams regarding downstream implications with our billing, quoting and revenue recognition systems.
  • Participate and help manage revenue and billing systems automation, improvement and optimization.
  • Provide support & maintenance to the Company’s revenue management system.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to collaborate on non-routine transactions, new product offerings, etc.
  • Manage revenue worldwide monthly financial close related tasks such preparation, review and reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue schedules and journal entries, preparing analytics and management reporting.
  • Perform SSP calculations and analysis.
  • Review non-standard revenue contracts and assess impact on revenue accounting and disclosures.
  • Research and document accounting conclusions in audit ready memos. Draft and maintain revenue accounting policies.
  • Work closely with the external audit team regarding any quarterly review and annual audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the other finance departments and business partners to provide ad hoc research, reporting, and projects as it pertains to revenue to continuously develop and refine processes around revenue forecasting.
  • Actively engage and manage best practice policies, procedures, process improvements.
Our Vision Of You
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ideally a combination of Big 4 and industry revenue experience, preferably with exposure to a high growth SaaS company.
  • Strong technical revenue accounting knowledge of US GAAP with a focus on ASC 606 rev rec.
  • Enterprise software and SaaS industry experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working cross functionally to identify accounting issues and proactively research applicable US GAAP implications as necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret large sets of data.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, organized and self-motivated.
  • CPA certification or equivalent practical experience a plus.

The annual base salary range for this role is $160,000-$190,000 USD. You may also be offered incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. Actual compensation is based on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
