Job summary

Delmar Nord, partnered with a leading investment bank in New York, is seeking a Director to lead its Restructuring group. You will manage deal teams, oversee client relationships, and drive out-of-court restructurings, Chapter 11 processes, and distressed M&A.

The role collaborates with Managing Directors, company management, creditor committees, and legal counsel on execution and origination activities, with a requirement to be based full-time in New York.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in restructuring, distressed debt, leveraged finance, or a closely related field, with prior investment banking experience required
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or JD a plus but not required
• Demonstrated experience leading deal teams and managing client relationships directly
• Strong technical grounding in capital structure analysis, valuation, and recovery modeling
• Familiarity with the Chapter 11 process and key restructuring terminology
• Series 79 and Series 63 licenses required
• Willingness to be based full time in New York

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution on restructuring engagements, including debtor and creditor advisory mandates
• Oversee financial modeling, including liquidity analyses, recovery analyses, and valuation work across debt and equity classes
• Manage and mentor Associates and Analysts, reviewing their work product and overseeing staffing
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, creditor groups, and outside advisors on live deals
• Support origination efforts, including preparing pitch materials and participating in business development meetings
• Coordinate with legal counsel and other advisors throughout in court and out of court processes

We are currently partnered with a leading investment bank headquartered in New York with an established restructuring and special situations practice serving corporate, creditor, and sponsor clients across industries.

The Role

The team is looking for a Director to help lead its Restructuring group in New York. You will manage deal teams and client relationships on out of court restructurings, Chapter 11 processes, liability management transactions, and distressed M&A, working closely with Managing Directors on origination and directly with company management, creditor committees, and legal counsel on execution.
