Job summary

AMH in Murray, UT is seeking a Director of Land Development to lead residential lot development across all phases, including due diligence, budgeting, permitting, and vendor management. The role requires managing schedules, budgets, and trade partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The position emphasizes cross-functional coordination with Land Acquisition, municipal authorities, and construction teams, plus overseeing risk management and project accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in land development design and/or land development.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience managing direct reports.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
• Drone license from FAA if applicable per market; OSHA 30 certification; SWPPP knowledge; strong MS Office and take-off software skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish, manage, and maintain accurate development schedules and budgets.
• Communicate budget reconciliation and cash flow projections; manage reimbursements and releases.
• Select and manage trade partners; oversee bids, contracts, change orders, and invoices.
• Collaborate with Land Acquisition to prepare budgets and executive summaries for new land deals.
• Assist land acquisition in securing municipal approvals and identifying site issues; travel to job sites as needed.
• Ensure proper turnover of communities to Property Management and secure final approvals.
