Job summary

The Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center (TCC) seeks a Director for Research Administration who will also serve as Associate Director for Administration for the P30 CCSG. The TCC is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center focused on advancing cancer research, training the next generation of scientists, and community engagement.

The Director reports to the TCC Director and oversees strategic planning and administrative operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• 5-7 years in healthcare finance or administration.
• Knowledge of NCI CCSG requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• CCSG Data Reporting: produce and submit CCSG data per NCI format for membership, grants, publications, shared resources, patient volume, and trial enrollment.
• Strategic Planning: work with senior leadership to identify high-priority areas and coordinate the Strategic Plan updates.
• Implementation of Goals: plan and manage activities to meet funding and membership objectives and support NCI designation.
• Program and Shared Resource Oversight: monitor programs/resources, assess new opportunities, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Pilot Awards and Limited Competitions: oversee RFA process, peer review coordination, ROI tracking, and reviewer recruitment.
• Grants Management: manage P30 CCSG renewals, supplements, and act as administrative liaison; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Financial Oversight: oversee budgets, gifts, seed funds, and develop business plans for new resources.
• Staff Management: supervise staff, set staffing plans, and enforce performance standards.
• Facilities Management: coordinate space planning, major renovations, and capital equipment negotiations.
• Research Base Growth: identify NIH/other grant opportunities and assist multi-investigator proposals.
• Effective Communications: distribute announcements, update website/newsletter, inform faculty of grants/honors.
• Faculty Recruitment: support strategic hires and term sheet development.
• Outreach: raise awareness of the research enterprise and engage community stakeholders.
• Philanthropy: engage donors and align funding with priorities.
