Job summary
J T is seeking a Director of Development to lead community solar, energy storage, and distributed generation initiatives across the region. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, directing a team of developers from site control through Notice to Proceed.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years in renewable energy project development and a track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments, with strong market insight and leadership capabilities.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in renewable energy project development or related energy sector management.
- Experience leading utility-scale or distributed generation projects.
- Direct team management, coaching and retention experience.
- Deep knowledge of power market dynamics, permitting, interconnection, and project life cycles.
- Strong understanding of project finance, deal structuring, and revenue stacking.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the region.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional strategy to grow the project pipeline.
- Manage and mentor a team of development managers and associates.
- Set and monitor stage-gate criteria for capital investments and risk metrics.
- Report portfolio progress, budget adherence and risks to executives.
