Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Director, Platform Architecture to define and scale a modern data and analytics platform across the enterprise, with AWS at the core. You will lead architecture, governance, security, and cost optimization while enabling data products and real-time analytics.

You will collaborate with governance, security, and compliance teams, mentor platform engineers, and drive architectural standards across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience in platform or data architecture.
• 5+ years of leadership building or scaling cloud-native data platforms on AWS.
• Experience with lakehouse, real-time streaming, and domain data products.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise data platform strategy aligned with business objectives and digital transformation.
• Define the architectural blueprint and reference architecture for the cloud-native data platform on AWS.
• Establish patterns for platform scalability, reliability, security, observability, and cost optimization.
• Design standards for infrastructure, networking, identity and access management, audit logging, metadata, and observability.
• Partner with domain architects and engineering teams to ensure reusable, modular, governed platform services and self-serve data products.
