Job summary

Target is seeking a Director – Real Estate Counsel to lead sophisticated real estate negotiations and drafting for the store portfolio and growth initiatives. The role requires experienced handling of ground and building leases, purchase and sale agreements, and development agreements, with strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited school, Minnesota bar admission or eligibility, and 5+ years of commercial real estate

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and Minnesota bar admission or eligibility.
• Significant experience in commercial real estate transactions and leasing.
• Strong writing and negotiation skills with ability to balance risk and business goals.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft a wide range of real estate transactions (leases, purchase agreements, easements, development agreements).
• Represent Target’s interests with developers, landlords, co-tenants and authorities.
• Coordinate title review and closing processes with the legal team and outside counsel.
