Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Real Estate leader to manage space across Advocate Aurora Health's portfolio, including owned and leased properties. The role develops strategies to position AAH to meet 21st‑century healthcare challenges and drives capital project oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business or real estate-related field.
• Typically 10 years of experience in Real Estate, Facilities and/or Healthcare Management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for space management throughout Advocate Aurora Health’s portfolio, including owned and leased properties, and developing strategies to position AAH for 21st‑century healthcare challenges.
• Evaluate and oversee capital projects related to real estate and space in support of leadership teams and site leadership.
• Maintain lease properties and collaborate with VP Real Estate Services and Associate General Counsel on strategies for managing owned/leased spaces with developers/landlords and third parties.
• Direct the compilation and upkeep of all facility documentation and architectural drawings, both hard and electronic copies.
• Guide real estate decisions related to strategic initiatives, including lease vs. own determinations, space location for initiatives, and negotiation of lease/purchase terms.

Pay Range: $68.20 - $102.30

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for space management throughout AAH’s portfolio of properties, both owned and leased. The position will develop strategies to better position AAH in facing the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare facilities in the 21st Century.
• In support of Advocate Medical Group and Aurora Medical Group leadership teams as well as site leadership teams this position will evaluate and oversee capital projects related to real estate and space.
• Responsible for maintaining lease properties for AAH. The position will work with the VP Real Estate Services and Associate General Counsel to develop strategies to properly address management of owned and leased spaces from third party developers and landlords and to third party individuals or physicians.
• In support of the Administrator Facilities Services, responsible for the compilation and upkeep of all facility documentation and architectural drawings, both hard and electronic copies.
• Responsible for directing the real estate decisions related to strategic initiatives of the organization, including determining lease vs. own decisions, locate potential space to meet those initiatives and negotiate lease terms for leased space and purchase terms for buildings and/or land for owned space.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• None Required.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, or
• Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate or related field.

Experience Required:

• Typically requires 10 years of experience in Real Estate, Facilities and/or Healthcare Management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Basic computer word processing, scheduling software and accounting spreadsheets.
• Ability to read and understand lease terms and purchase and sale agreement terms.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Exposed to normal office environment.
• Requires travel to various sites. Will be exposed to road and weather hazards.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
