Job summary

Monterey Park Hospital in the San Gabriel Valley is seeking a Director of Quality and Risk for the Quality Assurance Department. This full-time, exempt leadership role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and drives patient safety, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.

The director will oversee data collection for quality metrics, coordinate council activities, and lead performance improvement teams while ensuring survey readiness and regulatory compliance across the hospital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required.
• Minimum of three years working in healthcare quality improvement and risk management is required.
• Experience with survey preparation is required.
• Master's degree and CPHQ certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the collection and submission of quality data reported internally and to external agencies.
• Develops and implements strategic plans for Quality and Patient Safety annually.
• Coordinates the Quality/Patient Safety Council activities with the Council Chairperson.
• Works with the Medical Staff office to ensure agendas and reports for Quality Council/Committee meetings are prepared timely.
• Leads and supports Performance Improvement Teams.
• Recommends and facilitates changes to improve patient safety based on identified risks.
• Uses the Hospital’s PACE model to redesign processes and underlying systems.
• Measures and reports on the effectiveness of quality and patient safety programs for the Governing Board.
• Manages legal cases with AHMC Legal Counsel.
• Responsible for Incident Management monitoring and response.
• Responsible for 24-hour administration of services.
