Job summary

Humana seeks a Director of Segment Quality Engineering to advance quality practices across a defined technology portfolio. You will lead managers, engineers, and SDETs to drive delivery quality, test automation, and release readiness while embedding quality throughout the SDLC.

The role partners with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, and DevOps to improve speed, stability, and production readiness. Strong leadership and healthcare-domain experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software/quality engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership managing quality teams in large enterprises.
• Experience leading quality across multiple agile teams or complex portfolios.
• Proven success modernizing QA with automation, tooling, metrics, and processes.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience with API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to influence leaders.
• Experience leading AI adoption within Quality Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering strategy and execution across a defined portfolio or segment.
• Develop managers, leads, engineers, and SDETs; drive talent growth and team performance.
• Set portfolio quality goals, KPIs, governance to improve delivery quality.
• Embed built-in quality across planning, design, development, testing, deployment.
• Oversee test strategy across functional, integration, E2E, and release validation.
• Own portfolio-level quality risk management, including defect trends and release concerns.
• Drive automation-first practices and CI/CD integration for quality signals.
• Lead adoption of AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities.
• Sponsor modernization of quality frameworks, tooling, and test approaches.
• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, regulatory standards.
