Job summary

HDR is a leading engineering firm delivering water, infrastructure and environmental solutions. The Pump Stations and Pipelines Business Class Director will provide leadership for technical capabilities, coordinate with market sectors, and guide risk management across HDR projects.

This role supports client needs and drives strategic growth across HDR’s WTEM practices. The position requires 10+ years of experience, professional registration, and a proven ability to lead diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Professional registration in Architecture/Engineering.
• Proven leadership of diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Strong commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build close working relationships with related business classes, market sectors, business groups and operations.
• Lead and participate in technical risk management through process and resource reviews; provide advisory services on projects.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Monitor business class direction, policy adherence, and resources to workload allocation.
• Facilitate strategic hires and staff development to support HDR's WTEM business class.
