Job summary

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) is seeking an Executive Director to provide strategic leadership for advocacy and public policy initiatives, aligning with the organization’s strategic plan and priorities.

You will partner with the Board and Advocacy Committee, oversee a staff of program managers, and ensure coordinated execution of objectives, travel requirements, and robust stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of association management, advocacy/public policy program development and supervisory experience.
• Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Work with volunteers, advocacy partners and staff to develop and oversee a public policy strategy that supports the association's objectives and improves patient care.
• Liaise with the AAAAI Board of Directors and Advocacy Committee leadership, organizing meetings, minutes and reports.
• Serve as primary liaison to the Advocacy Committee, directing staff activities to achieve goals and maintain records.
• Represent the AAAAI in coalition and partnership efforts with related organizations.
• Provide direction and leadership to the Practice & Policy staff, ensuring resource efficiency and unity of effort.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of supervised staff and apply rewards or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Coordinate activities with assigned committees within the AAAAI to achieve objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
