The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is seeking a Director – Public Area Department (PAD) to oversee the Internal Maintenance department, planning projects and labor allocations to maintain the resort's cleanliness and uphold brand standards.

You will design cleaning strategies, develop SOPs, manage budgets, coordinate with vendors, and ensure guest service standards across a fast-paced hospitality environment. Strong leadership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must obtain/maintain any required certifications or licenses.
  • 7–10 years of management experience in housekeeping or public areas with budgeting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse teams and guests.
  • Experience working under collective bargaining agreements is preferred.
  • Clear and effective English communication in spoken and written form.
  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee Cleaning Strategy to deliver sustainable quality of facilities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Internal Maintenance department.
  • Develop SOPs for care and maintenance of property.
  • Work with vendors for departmental needs and cost control.
  • Contribute input on budgets, division operations, and profitability.
  • Develop and measure guest service standards aligned with brand attributes.
  • Research, develop and implement new products/services to meet changing guest needs.
  • Periodically tour facility to inspect cleanliness and condition.
  • Set standards and procedures for Internal Maintenance team; coordinate with facilities for repairs.
  • Uphold safety and ensure consistent attendance as essential job functions.

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Director – Public Area Department (PAD) is to oversee the operations of the Internal Maintenance Department by strategically and efficiently planning of projects & labor allocations to maintain the cleanliness of the resort.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee Cleaning Strategy to deliver sustainable quality of facilities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Internal Maintenance department.
  • Develop SOPs for care and maintenance of property.
  • Actively work with vendors for any departmental needs.
  • Provide input and direction in the development and monitoring of budgets, division operations and marketing strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability for The Venetian Resort.
  • Provide input into and executes the development, implementation, and measurement of guest service standards within assigned department consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes.
  • Participate in the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality/gaming environment.
  • Periodically tours facility to inspect cleanliness.
  • Establish standards and work procedures for Internal Maintenance team members, inspects and evaluates physical condition of department areas, and consults with facilities department on any necessary repair work.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 7 - 10 years of management experience in housekeeping or public area operations and budgeting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Prior working experience with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
