Position Overview

The Executive Director- Housekeeping is a key executive leader within the Hotel Division, responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of three major departments Housekeeping, Public Area, and Wardrobe. Overseeing a multi-tower, 7,000+ suite luxury resort, this role provides high-level executive governance to the Housekeeping, Public Area, and Wardrobe operations. The Executive Director is accountable for defining and maintaining world‑class standards of cleanliness, aesthetic presentation, and service quality across all guest suites, casino floors, convention spaces, public venues, and uniform services. Aligning operations with the resort’s luxury brand attributes, this position drives long-term strategic planning, manages consolidated multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets, champions innovative technologies, and fosters a positive, collaborative culture across a large, diverse, and unionized workforce. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide overarching strategic direction and leadership to the Director of Housekeeping, Public Area Managers, and Wardrobe/Uniform Managers, ensuring unified goals and collaborative execution.
  • Formulate, drive, and execute the long-term strategic plans and annual business objectives for the Housekeeping, Public Area, and Wardrobe departments.
  • Serve as the primary executive liaison for the division, coordinating with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Facilities/Engineering, and Sales/Catering to ensure flawless guest and convention experiences.
  • Hold ultimate accountability for the cleanliness, preservation, and luxury presentation of all 7,000+ guest suites, casino public areas, high-limit salons, convention centers, back‑of‑house corridors, and external resort pathways.
  • Oversee the strategic management of Wardrobe/Uniform operations, ensuring high‑quality styling, efficient inventory distribution, laundry/dry‑cleaning services, and seamless uniform logistics for thousands of resort Team Members.
  • Establish and champion comprehensive inspection programs, luxury service standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all three departments to ensure service standards are consistently met.
  • Champion the research, development, and implementation of innovative technologies (e.g., RFID uniform tracking, automated scheduling, modern PMS integration, environmental hygiene systems) to increase efficiency and enhance the guest/Team Member experience.
  • Direct the preparation, forecasting, and ongoing management of the consolidated operating budgets, payroll expenses, and capital expenditure (CapEx) plans for Housekeeping, Public Area, and Wardrobe.
  • Identify and execute cost‑control strategies, procurement optimizations, and vendor management practices for linens, uniform inventory, chemicals, and contract services.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Guide, mentor, and professionalize the department’s leadership pipeline, with a strong focus on succession planning, performance feedback, and executive coaching for the Housekeeping Director and other direct reports.
  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and high‑performance work environment that prioritizes safety, mutual respect, recognition, and overall Team Member satisfaction.
  • Provide strategic leadership in managing a large, unionized workforce; ensure complete compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and maintain a proactive, harmonious relationship with labor representatives.
  • Oversee complex talent acquisition, training programs, and retention initiatives across all managed divisions.
  • Ensure absolute departmental adherence to all local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations (including OSHA and southern Nevada health codes).
  • Maintain a perpetual state of readiness for internal quality audits, safety inspections, and regulatory visits.
  • Actively support and champion the property’s safety programs, ensuring all leaders and Team Members prioritize safe work practices.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 10 years of experience in Hotel Operations.
  • 3 years of experience in Housekeeping.
  • Must possess excellent analytical, problem‑solving, critical thinking and decision‑making skills with the ability to conduct analyses and generate reports to reflect findings.
  • Must be able to direct a work force; provide support staff & delegate job duties; possess administrative skills in budget preparation, cost control, staff scheduling, labor relations and problem‑solving techniques are essential.
  • Ability to express ideas or make recommendations concerning job related issues.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of Housekeeping responsibilities & functions.
  • Must be able to logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work; display initiative.
  • Exhibit the ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make progress on and manage multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to
