Director, Project Management, Digital Engagement

What You’ll Do

As the Director of Digital Project Management, you will support our digital medical communication projects by applying project management principles to ensure client goals are achieved, and projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will manage complex projects and portfolios, analyze reports to identify issues and recommend solutions, and collaborate with leadership to improve processes and workflows.

You will also support the training and mentorship of junior team members by managing a team of digital project managers (3-5 direct reports, including people managers). The role requires a deep understanding of digital project execution, enabling you to both execute projects and oversee and educate team members on digital strategies.

A Day in the Life

Deliverables

• Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) and change orders, including draft timelines and assumptions, with internal routing and approvals.
• Create and monitor project timelines, tasks, and budgets using Workfront.
• Monitor project issues, propose solutions, and ensure timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
• Maintain project budget reports and support financial reconciliation by ensuring timely submission of staff hours, expenses, and invoices.
• Oversee reviews of project deliverables for scope adherence.
• Manage the execution of the Vaniam Group's digital offerings, recommending process improvements, resource adjustments, and pricing strategies.

Internal Responsibility and Management

• Coordinate with department and resource managers to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Lead communication regarding project statuses, upcoming deadlines, and escalate concerns as needed.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams and vendors to ensure transparency and collaboration.
• Oversee and mentor digital project managers, providing coaching and problem-solving support.
• Lead initiatives to improve digital and omnichannel project management processes.
• Analyze project data to identify issues and propose solutions.

Additional Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support project deliverables.

What You Must Have

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; PMP certification is a plus.
• At least 5 years in project management and 4 years in a medical communications or advertising agency.
• Minimum 3 years managing digital projects in healthcare or medical communications (e.g., website development, interactive modules).

Skills and Competencies

Preferred but Not Required

• Experience working in a virtual environment.
• Experience in Oncology/Blood cancer space.

Travel Requirements

• Travel within the US and internationally as needed, with less than 5% travel expected.

Team Collaboration

You will work closely with the Digital Engagement, Client Solutions, Scientific Communications, and Business Development teams to define and deliver digital products and enhancements.
