Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or a related technical field.
• Progressive leadership experience managing project teams on engineer-to-order, industrial, EPC or manufacturing projects.
• Experience with electrical technical buildings, E-Houses, modular substations, power distribution facilities, switchgear or MCC buildings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment integration and related multidisciplinary interfaces.

STQ Partners is working with a specialist manufacturer of modular electrical buildings and packaged industrial power systems. The business has deep experience in electrical buildings, packaged equipment and power project execution. It covers a broad range of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage solutions, including E-Houses, switchgear, MCCs and electrical equipment enclosures (EECs).

Our client is a long-established, Houston-based business serving customers across the industrial power sector. To keep pace with a growing specialty project pipeline, they are now seeking a Director of Project Management to lead their specialty projects division.

This role oversees the execution of electrical technical buildings, E-Houses, modular substations, power distribution and control buildings, and equipment enclosures. You will have full accountability for project execution, team leadership, customer alignment, schedule, cost, cash flow, risk and margin performance, from contract handoff through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop project managers and project support personnel, establishing clear standards, ownership and accountability.
• Provide portfolio-level oversight from contract handoff through engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, shipment, field support and closeout.
• Drive project planning, scheduling, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, cash flow, billing milestones, change management and margin protection.
• Lead regular project and portfolio reviews covering schedule, financial performance, risks, customer commitments, recovery actions and required decisions.
• Coordinate electrical, structural, mechanical, HVAC, controls, fire protection, manufacturing, quality, logistics and commissioning interfaces.
• Manage key customer, EPC, OEM, engineering, supplier and subcontractor relationships, including executive reviews and escalated issues.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, customer specifications, applicable codes and standards, safety requirements and ISO 9001 processes.
• Standardize project controls, reporting, risk management, documentation, lessons learned and the use of Epicor/Kinetic or comparable ERP systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or a related technical field.
• Progressive leadership experience managing project teams and complex engineer-to-order, industrial, EPC or manufacturing projects.
• Direct experience with electrical technical buildings, E-Houses, modular substations, power distribution facilities, switchgear or MCC buildings, or comparable equipment enclosures.
• Working knowledge of electrical equipment integration, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS and battery systems, controls, cable management, grounding, building utilities and related multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Demonstrated accountability for project budgets, forecasts, schedules, change orders, cash flow, risk mitigation, customer commitments and margin performance.
• Strong contract interpretation, negotiation, problem-solving, leadership and executive communication skills.
• Ability to lead multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and to travel domestically or internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification, PE license and/or EIT designation.
• Experience with Epicor/Kinetic, project scheduling tools, AutoCAD, Revit or BIM coordination.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC and UL standards, and with hazardous-location, blast-resistant, fire-rated or pressurized building requirements.
• International project experience involving customers, affiliates, suppliers or manufacturing partners.
