The Director, Project Engineering is responsible for leading project engineering activities, engineering specification governance, document control, feasibility analysis, cost-informed project definition, and constructability reviews for Energy construction, marine infrastructure, strategic capital projects, and internal dry dock projects. This role helps ensure new opportunities are thoroughly vetted for technical risk and feasibility, and assigned projects are technically sound, appropriately documented, and aligned with safety, regulatory, operational, cost, schedule, and asset reliability requirements.
Project engineering and engineering management; civil engineering and construction engineering principles; dry dock project engineering and marine construction support; engineering specifications, standards governance, and technical decision governance; document control and technical document management; feasibility studies and front-end project definition; cost estimating and technical basis of estimate development; constructability reviews and field execution readiness; drawing, specification, and scope of work review; regulatory, safety, quality, and compliance requirements; contractor, vendor, shipyard, and engineering consultant coordination; change management, risk identification, and technical issue resolution.
Demonstrates technical judgment, project engineering discipline, and the ability to translate complex engineering requirements into clear project scopes and specifications. Communicates effectively with engineering, operations, leadership contractor, vendor, and cross-functional audiences. Identifies technical risks, scope gaps, cost impacts, constructability concerns, and technical diligence trade-offs. Maintains strong organizational skills, attention to document control, governance, and technical accuracy. Leads through influence across multidisciplinary teams and applies practical, cost-informed decision-making with a focus on safety, compliance, quality, and asset reliability.
Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
Position Location - Seattle/Hybrid
Salary Range is: $165,000 to $230,000
*Pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
