Job summary

Skanska USA is seeking a Director - Project to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large, complex construction programs from preconstruction through closeout. You will set strategy, guide high-performing teams, and ensure safety, quality, client satisfaction, and financial performance.

The role requires a strong leadership presence, deep construction knowledge, and the ability to foster collaboration across project teams and partners.

Project Director to lead the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of large, complex construction projects or multiple concurrent projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This role is accountable forestablishingproject strategy, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring exceptional performance in the areas of safety, quality, client satisfaction, budget, schedule, risk management, and operational excellence. The Project Director serves as a senior leader who provides direction across all phases of the project lifecycle and helps ensure that projectobjectivesare achieved in alignment with Skanska’s standards, values, and business goals.

The Project Director works closely with clients, project executives, project managers, superintendents, preconstruction teams, design partners, consultants, and trade partners to develop execution plans, resolve complex issues, and drive successful project outcomes. This individualis responsible foroverseeing financial and operational performance,monitoringprojectrisksand opportunities, supporting commercial and contractual strategy, andmaintainingstrong stakeholder relationships throughout the life of the project. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership presence, sound business judgment, deep construction knowledge, and the ability to foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams and partners.

Director - Project Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years track record of delivering on-time projects.
  • 10+ years of experience maintaining or exceeding planned profit targets for projects.
  • 10+ years creating and maintaining a culture of safety.
  • 10+ years' experience developing a culture of quality assurance and control.
  • 10+ years managing and developing successful teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management/Engineering or 8 years equivalent experience plus a minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience.
