Job summary

Pacific Life seeks a Director of Product and Pricing Risk for its Workforce Benefits team. The role blends actuarial leadership with pricing strategy, risk governance, and cross-functional partnership across underwriting, finance, and operations.

Hybrid schedule includes four days on-site and one day remote, with relocation assistance available to qualify candidates. The successful candidate will guide analytics, pricing tools, and governance, while developing staff and coordinating with leaders

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive actuarial experience with an FSA designation.
• Deep experience in group product lines (Dental, Vision, Group Life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Supplemental Health, Leave and Absence Management).
• Experience managing multiple initiatives, working with ambiguity, and adapting to change.
• Experience developing or implementing pricing analyses, assumptions, monitoring frameworks, or governance processes.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred, or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-product pricing and risk processes across Workforce Benefits.
• Analyze new business and renewal results; evaluate pricing approaches, profitability targets, and portfolio guardrails.
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of pricing tools, models, and reporting for Pricing and Underwriting.
• Build portfolio analytics that connect growth, profitability, competitiveness, and risk; translate results into actionable recommendations.
• Facilitate cross-product assumption setting with Finance, Pricing, and Product leadership.
• Prepare clear, decision-ready materials for product, pricing, and risk governance forums.
• Lead and develop actuarial professionals and rotational analysts; provide development opportunities.
• Support month-end and quarter-end financial and reserving activities; analyze claims experience and risk drivers.
• Manage multiple initiatives in a nimble, collaborative team environment.
