Job Description Summary

The “Grid Automation (GA) Protection & Control” Director Product Manager drives the overall business strategy of the GA mainstream products portfolio, focusing on market demand, product management, and technology differentiation. He/She will have direct responsibility over the product management and the technology development of a portfolio generating approximately $1B in revenues, leveraging a team of around 500 domain experts and optimizing the allocation of about $50M of R&D spend.

The leader will oversee the industrialization, go-to-market strategy, and commercial development of the portfolio, interacting with the Grid Automation supply chain, regions, customers, and industry leaders.

The leader will also collaborate within the broader GE Vernova, Electrification segment, and Grid teams to maximize synergy, cross-business initiatives, impact, and performance.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop customer connections, understand industry trends, and identify growth opportunities in related segments.
  2. Define the “GA Protection & Control” strategy, product/solution roadmap, and business cases.
  3. Drive technology differentiation and roadmap development in coordination with the GA CTO.
  4. Manage end-to-end NPI program management and execution.
  5. Oversee the lifecycle of products and solutions in coordination with GA regions and the Global Supply Chain.
  6. Partner with GA regions to define marketing, commercial growth, delivery, and service strategies.
  7. Build an efficient organizational structure and diverse teams, developing talent and capabilities to support individual growth and maximize business performance.
  8. Develop internal and external relationships to lead or support cross-portfolio initiatives and projects.
  9. Contribute to the long-term strategy of Grid Automation in collaboration with the GA CTO.
  10. Propose partnerships and acquisitions to support business growth initiatives.

Basic Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience/knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in product management, technology development, and/or business management.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong domain knowledge in Electricity Transmission, Distribution, Industrial, and Automation markets is preferred.
  • Strong business and technical acumen, with a keen interest in business development and commercial aspects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Proactive in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.
