Job description

Director, Product Management, Cyber Insurance Market

Sophos is a global leader and innovator of advanced security solutions for defeating cyberattacks. The company acquired Secureworks in February 2025, bringing together two pioneers that have redefined the cybersecurity industry with their innovative, native AI-optimized services, technologies and products. Sophos is now the largest pure-play Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider, supporting more than 28,000 organizations.

Role Summary

Are you ready to be at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation? Join our fast-paced Security Operations team as we shape the future of Incident Response and Advisory products and services. In this highly visible role, you’ll collaborate with product leadership, customers, partners, Cyber Insurers, engineers, and our Advisory Services team to develop solutions that truly make an impact.

We’re looking for a strategic and technical product leader with a track record of building cybersecurity services that meet customer needs and align with Cyber Insurer requirements. You’ll combine business acumen, technical expertise, and a big-picture vision to work across Product, Operations, and Engineering. Your role will involve defining product strategy, leading design and planning discussions, and making key prioritization decisions.

You’ll work alongside talented engineers, researchers, and security professionals to develop practical, real-world solutions for today’s cybersecurity challenges. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and want to shape the future of security advisory services, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Take a customer-first approach, engaging with SOC teams, Incident Responders, CISOs, and security analysts to understand their challenges and evolving needs.
  • Develop strong partnerships and build proposals with Cyber Insurers, working with Corporate Development to negotiate contracts and expand coverage opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Managers and teams to identify synergies, flag dependencies, and deliver seamless cross-product and cross-business unit initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of the competition—analyzing market trends, identifying gaps, and ensuring our products remain competitive and differentiated.
  • Product Development & Execution:
  • Lead product development by defining requirements and user stories, ensuring alignment with engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including engineering leaders and sales engineering teams, to execute on key product priorities.
  • Manage senior leadership expectations, providing clear status updates, action plans, and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure smooth execution of product roadmaps, addressing challenges proactively and escalating critical issues when necessary.
  • Act as the key product point of contact throughout the product delivery lifecycle, ensuring alignment, clarity, and momentum in all initiatives.

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in cybersecurity, particularly in Incident Response, security consulting, Cyber Insurance, MDR, and/or related security solutions.
  • A good knowledge of cyber threats, attack vectors, threat intelligence, and the incident response lifecycle (Preparation, Detection & Analysis, Containment, Eradication, and Recovery).
  • Expertise with security technologies such as XDR, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, MDR, and forensic tools.
  • Interest in GenAI technology and its potential applications in cybersecurity operations.
  • Knowledge of Threat Intelligence, including threat hunting, IoCs, and TTPs.
  • Established relationships with Cyber Insurers, with experience leveraging partnerships to expand security service offerings.
  • Existing relationships with Cyber Insurers that you can leverage to build partnerships with Sophos including getting on to additional panels for IR and other services.
  • Regularity knowledge and understanding of GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2 and other cyber security frameworks.
  • Understanding of working in collaboration with a diverse range of business functions and customers to drive change and achieve delivery.
  • Track record of preparing and presenting a strategy, roadmap, prioritizing product backlog, and working on product strategy.
  • The ability to weigh critical, well-informed trade-offs and have the data points to defend those decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills to interface successfully with a broad variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones and functional domains.

In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $181,000 to $301,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
