Job description

Director, Product Management – Associate Experience

Workplace Experience Platform Director, Product Management (PXDP60) Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We believe our portfolio of businesses and investments in growth and transformation will result in a company with the scale, brand, capabilities, talent, and values to succeed as the digital revolution transforms our society and our industry.

About the Role

As a Director on the Associate Experience product team you will embark on the mission to connect customers in the Capital One enterprise (i.e., our employees, or Associates) with simple to use, digitally enriched experiences that are designed to enhance the associate experience. Capital One has a reputation of providing an industry leading customer experience, and is continuously pushing boundaries, surprising customers with solutions they never thought were possible. We strive to create the same unparalleled experience for our Associates, the employees of Capital One.

In this role, you will own and evolve Capital One's Workplace Experience Platform, a platform that securely connects our internal data and workflows to the tools associates use every day, from our intranet (One Place) and Slack to AI assistants like Gemini and Claude. Rather than building isolated websites or one-off integrations, you will establish the core connections, including associate identity, workflow rules, and approval tasks, so that every new internal tool or AI model can simply "plug in" to a governed, scalable grid.

Responsibilities
  • Establish Strategic Vision: Define and steward the end-to-end Workplace Experience Platform strategy across a three-phase roadmap: Consolidate ("One Place to look"), Connect ("one place to act"), and Anticipate ("the platform comes to you").
  • Lead Product Execution: Direct a team focused on driving business value, while ensuring the team ships what matters first and builds solutions that align with the end goal.
  • Drive Enablement: Champion our Intranet Web and Mobile (i.e. One Place) adoption & transformation through enablement programs that drive workforce proficiency.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Work seamlessly across lines of business (LOBs) to establish governance protocols, consolidate disparate AI initiatives, and build a cohesive ecosystem.
Product Framework

In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product management:

  • Human Centered – Obsesses about internal and external customer needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions
  • Business Focused – Delivers game-changing outcomes by focusing on leverage and execution excellence
  • Technology Driven – Leverages technology to deliver innovative and resilient solutions that enable both near term and long term value
  • Integrated Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves complex problems to deliver outcomes while mitigating product risks
  • Transformational Leadership – Leads cross functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field and at least 5 years of Product Management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Product expertise with best-in-class generative AI products (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Glean, etc.)
  • Experience establishing and working with agentic frameworks and LLM orchestration protocols
  • Track record in defining long-term Digital strategy, roadmap prioritization, and implementing governance standards to manage risk
  • Experience managing product management teams, specifically leading and mentoring senior-level direct reports
  • Strong background serving as a primary liaison between Product, Engineering, Data/ML teams, and senior executive leadership
  • Experience developing user enablement programs and standardizing interaction patterns for emerging technologies
Salaries
  • Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management
  • New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900 for Director, Product Management
  • Chicago, IL: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management
