Job summary

NetApp in San Jose focuses on leading the AFF systems portfolio. The role drives product strategy, roadmaps, and cross-functional execution across engineering, sales, and finance to deliver high-value all-flash storage platforms.

You will coach a team of PMs, set priorities, and present strategic tradeoffs to executives. With a strong background in enterprise storage architectures and ONTAP familiarity, you’ll own lifecycle management, competitive positioning, and GTM collaboration to maximize

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of product management experience in enterprise infrastructure, storage, or related hardware/software domains.
  • 5+ years leading product managers or equivalent people leadership of a technical product team.
  • Proven ownership of a high-revenue hardware/software product line including roadmap and lifecycle outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage architectures and modern data-center infrastructure.
  • Experience partnering with engineering on next-generation system definition across multiple product lines.
  • Experience driving cross-functional execution across engineering, supply chain, operations, finance, and GTM.
  • Executive presence to present platform tradeoffs to senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with NetApp ONTAP or comparable storage platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of product managers for AFF systems and next-gen platform programs.
  • Set team priorities, cadence, and delivery standards; be accountable for the AFF franchise.
  • Represent the portfolio to senior leadership and communicate strategy, tradeoffs, and performance.
  • Own product strategy for NetApp's AFF systems and define positioning across the portfolio.
  • Define and drive strategy for engineered systems with shared architectures across lines.
  • Develop and maintain multi-generation roadmaps across performance, capacity, form factors, and transitions.
  • Track adoption, capacity growth, and economics; translate metrics into roadmap and GTM actions.
  • Drive new-product programs from requirements through qualification to GA, sustaining, and EOL.
  • Ensure product requirements for engineering, operations, and planning are clear and aligned to launches.
  • Own lifecycle discipline including transitions, configuration optimization, and sustaining strategy.
  • Synthesize customer and partner requirements into platform priorities and design decisions.
  • Own competitive positioning and convert gaps into actions.
  • Connect platform investments to customer outcomes and business impact with business cases.
  • Partner with product marketing and field on messaging and enablement.
  • Coordinate accountability across engineering, supply chain, operations, finance, marketing, and sales.
  • Influence architecture and system-level decisions spanning multiple product lines.

Requirements
  • 12+ years of product management or technical product planning experience in enterprise infrastructure, storage, or related hardware/software domains
  • 5+ years leading product managers or equivalent people-leadership of a technical product team
  • Proven ownership of a high-revenue hardware and/or systems product line, including roadmap, new product introduction, lifecycle, and business outcomes
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage architectures, including all-flash systems, file and block protocols, and modern data-center infrastructure
  • Experience partnering with engineering on next-generation system definition, including architectures shared across more than one product line
  • Experience driving cross-functional execution across engineering, supply chain, operations, finance, and go-to-market
  • Executive presence and ability to represent complex platform and business tradeoffs to senior leadership
  • Familiarity with NetApp ONTAP or comparable unified storage platforms preferred
  • Experience with storage economics, performance and capacity offerings, and platform generation transitions preferred
  • Experience positioning storage for AI, virtualization, mission-critical applications, and other enterprise workloads preferred
