Overview
The Director of Product Management plays a key role in leading a team to drive vision and growth for SaaS and PaaS based Product platforms including Connect, Enterprise, Professional, and Express. This is to ensure we maintain our market leading position and provide a superior user experience that delights end users.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and drive product strategy and initiatives for their team. Evaluate potential by analyzing market and customer needs through direct client interaction, market research, and interfacing with cross-functional teams.
- Provide oversight for multiple product owners and lead a team of Product Managers responsible for market-sensing activities to understand market requirements and deliver innovative product solutions that provide a superior user experience.
- Work closely with Software Engineering to drive product development and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing for product positioning, launch, and ongoing market-facing activities.
- Lead, recruit, and grow a talented product management team.
- Stay up-to-date on latest trends in HR technologies, HCM Ecosystem, and SOA-based software technologies including APIs and middleware.
- Execute departmental plans and contribute to the development of department strategies.
- Make decisions guided by business unit or functional strategies that impact results.
- Determine, evaluate, and modify department goals to meet current and future needs.
- Allocate resources to meet financial and operational performance requirements and address business issues beyond immediate needs or where policies may be inadequate.
- Leverage relationships with key internal/external customers to support business needs. Communicate complex ideas across organizational levels. Negotiate with customers and leadership to set priorities. Interact frequently with colleagues and senior customer representatives.
- Make effective presentations to large groups, persuade key customers, and negotiate solutions.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus.
- 12+ years of enterprise-level product management experience.
- Experience managing third-party technology providers and establishing coordination processes for new releases.
- Experience developing mission-critical enterprise software and high-volume transaction systems, with leadership in agile and matrix environments. Customer-facing experience in software product definition.
- Experience with Pragmatic Marketing or similar methodologies is a plus.
- Broad business and technical knowledge, including industry issues and company relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership skills for managing large teams or technical experts.
- Knowledge of background screening industry, especially US Public Records, preferred.
