Job summary

Tyler Technologies seeks a Priority Based Budgeting Director to guide government clients through interpretation, application, and decision-making in budgeting. You’ll lead executive-facing work with data-driven insights and credibility in council briefings and budget hearings.

The role blends consulting, public-sector fluency, strategic communication, and facilitation, with comfort challenging model outputs when needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in local government finance or budgeting.
• Experience presenting to executives or elected bodies.
• Ability to interpret data and defend recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior relationship holder with executive sponsors and conduct check-ins.
• Sign off on executive-facing materials, including briefs to city or county leadership.
• Own recovery plans when client satisfaction signals shift.
• Lead Phase 1 data creation, Phase 2 analytics, and Phase 3 applied budgeting activities.
• Adapt engagement format to client needs (onsite, virtual, or hybrid).
