Job summary

Tyler Technologies, Inc. seeks a Priority Based Budgeting Director to lead government client engagements, working with CFOs and Budget Directors to translate predictive insights into defensible budget strategies. You will own executive-facing communications and guide the engagement through data creation, analytics, and applied budgeting phases.

The role requires deep public-sector finance experience, strategic communication, and comfort challenging model outputs to support senior decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in local government finance, budgeting, management consulting, or public-sector advisory.
• Proven ability to present to executives or elected bodies.
• Strong facilitation with senior stakeholders in politically sensitive settings.
• Familiarity with municipal ERP/GL structures and data extraction.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior relationship holder with each client's executive sponsor at the start and end of each phase.
• Sign off on the narrative and numbers for executive-facing material before delivery.
• Own the recovery plan when a client satisfaction signal drops.
• Lead across data creation, analytics, and applied phases with client alignment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field

Master's degree (MPA, MPP, or MBA) preferred

CPFO, CGFM (GFOA), ICMA Credentialed Manager a plus
