Job summary

AskBio Inc. seeks a Director of Pre-Clinical Manufacturing to lead the RTP team. You will translate R&D programs into scalable manufacturing plans, manage multi-program pipelines, and guide tech transfer from research to GMP-ready processes. You will mentor staff and drive cost-effective improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience in cell culture, downstream processing, and vector production, with strong collaboration across R&D, PD, and MSAT to deliver IND-enabling manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or Biology with 10+ years in biopharma.
• Strong leadership experience managing scientists and associates.
• Experience in biologics manufacturing (mAb, recombinant protein, vaccine, or viral vector).
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture, depth filtration (DFF), chromatography, tangential flow filtration (TFF).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate the R&D portfolio into a scalable manufacturing strategy and plan.
• Develop production schedules balancing capacity, materials, equipment and timelines across programs.
• Lead the PCM team across Pre-Clinical Manufacturing, Process Development, and MSAT.
• Oversee plasmid and rAAV vector supply, lab services, and vendor coordination.
• Partner with QA to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.
