The Director, PMO Business Value Optimization role is a hands-on leadership position focused on driving business value in the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, IT, and business partnership, and will support project managers and teams to ensure they have the training, processes, and expertise needed to meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Drive continuous improvement, culture change, and adoption of new ways of working through development of processes, standards, and training programs within the PMO and across ESS.
  2. Identify and promote PMO best practices, coach and develop talent.
  3. Develop templates, workflows, and deliverables to enhance project management effectiveness and ensure consistency.
  4. Collaborate across BAE Systems to ensure adoption of enterprise PM capability standards within ESS-IT.
  5. Maintain project governance structures, including certification as an LCM trainer for the ESS organization.
  6. Improve accountability and transparency between business and IT by developing practices that guide project teams in IT deployment and benefits realization.
  7. Focus on value realization by emphasizing business outcomes and value-focused storytelling.
  8. Establish standards for project planning, risk management, financials, and earned value management; coach teams to meet risk and compliance requirements.
  9. Oversee Project Planners providing support for large IT initiatives, coaching staff in complex scheduling and EVM techniques.
  10. Supervise Change Managers and monitor the progress of transformative activities within ESS.
  11. Set or promote quality standards and monitor team deliverables.

The ideal candidate will utilize servant leadership, emotional intelligence, and strong communication and decision-making skills to navigate organizational complexities.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • PMP Certification.
  • At least 10 years in project management and planning, with familiarity with methodologies and tools.
  • Minimum 5 years in transformation management, coaching, and process support.
  • Experience in training adult learners.
  • Experience with project finance and Earned Value Management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at an executive level.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Agile Certification.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SPM tools.

Pay Range: $150,370 - $255,630, based on market and individual factors.
