Qualifications

• Experience: 5–10 years in facilities operations, with 3–5 years in management or supervision.
• Certifications: CHFM, CFM or FMP; FEMA ICS 100,200,700,800; G46/S95 Fitness.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state/local codes (CMS, OSHA, NFPA).

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee Facilities Management departments (Engineering, Housekeeping, Laundry, Communications, Security).
• Ensure 24/7 operation, safety, and maintenance of the health care environment for residents and staff.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations while managing budgets and long-term capital projects.
• Read and interpret scientific, financial, and regulatory documents accurately.
• Respond to inquiries from regulators and stakeholders; present information to senior leaders and boards.
• Deep understanding of MEP systems; respond decisively to emergencies and complex infractions.
• Budget planning, cost-containment, and financial data analysis responsibilities.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant codes and standards across CMS, OSHA, NFPA, and Public Health guidelines.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance and environmental services staff.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and oversee all of the Facilities Management Departments, (Engineering, Housekeeping, Laundry, Communications, Security departments)
• The Director of Facilities Management (or Director of Plant Operations) is responsible for the 24/7 operation, safety, and maintenance of the physical environment for residents and staff.
• Ensures that the facility remains compliant with strict healthcare-specific regulations while managing budgets, staff, and long-term capital projects.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
• Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
• Ability to respond decisively during emergencies and resolve complex infrastructure issues under pressure.
• Proficiency in budget planning, cost-containment strategies, and analyzing financial data.
• Ensures the facility adheres to all federal, state, and local codes, including CMS, OSHA, NFPA (Life Safety Code), and state Department of Public Health standard
• Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating maintenance and environmental services staff.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or Business Administration, or an Associate's degree with significant experience.
• Experience: Require 5-10 years of facilities operations experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management or supervisory role. Prior experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
• Certifications: Highly preferred certifications include:
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or FMP Facility Management Professional (FMP)
  • FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, 800
  • G46 Certificate of Fitness
  • S95 Certificate of Fitness
