Job summary

Encompass Health seeks a Facilities Management Director to lead all building, grounds, and life-safety operations for our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Reporting to hospital leadership, you will oversee maintenance, environmental services, and plant operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment.

You will manage staff and vendors, ensure regulatory readiness (Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA), and drive capital planning, preventive maintenance, and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• CHFM preferred
• CHC a plus
• OSHA safety training
• Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS regulations

Responsibilities

• Lead daily facilities, maintenance and plant operations for the rehabilitation hospital.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, life-safety and local codes.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Manage facilities staff, schedules, performance and development.
• Coordinate environmental services and support a clean, safe patient-centered environment.
• Develop and manage capital and operating budgets for facilities.
• Direct vendor and contract management and service agreements.
• Lead emergency preparedness and life safety drills and response planning.
• Plan renovations, repairs and small construction projects.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to support operational needs.
