Job summary

University of South Alabama Health System seeks a Pharmacy leader to oversee department operations, ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, and manage staff with a focus on safe drug use and cost-effective care. The role collaborates with clinicians to optimize patient outcomes in Mobile, AL and surrounding areas.

Required is a PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy, a current Alabama license, and at least five years of pharmacy practice with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• 5 years of pharmacy experience with 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Current, unencumbered Alabama pharmacist license at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assure full regulatory compliance of department
• Maintain accountability for controlled substances
• Assure full compliance with accreditation standards
• Practice good resource stewardship
• Design, implement, and sustain pharmacy services to meet the needs of patient populations served
• Model appropriate behaviors and practice standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the system to improve care and efficiency
• Recruit, retain, mentor, develop, and discipline staff as appropriate
• Communicate effectively up and down the organization
• Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
• Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
• Regular and prompt attendance
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
• Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D from accredited school of pharmacy, 5 years of pharmacy experience, 3 of which were in a supervisory capacity Required

  • RPH - Registered Pharmacist - Current, unencumbered AL pharmacist license Upon Hire Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
