Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Performance and Growth Marketing based in the United States.

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Director of Performance and Growth Marketing to lead demand generation, paid media, marketing automation, and revenue-focused growth initiatives within an innovative K-12 education technology organization. In this role, you will own the marketing funnel from initial engagement through qualified lead generation and sales handoff, ensuring every campaign delivers measurable business impact. You will oversee paid acquisition, lifecycle marketing, account-based marketing, attribution, and performance reporting while optimizing investment across channels and market segments. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, and IT, you will build scalable systems that improve lead quality, conversion rates, and marketing-sourced pipeline. You will also champion AI-powered workflows and automation to streamline campaign execution, strengthen analytics, and reduce manual processes. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a growth-minded professional who combines strategic vision, technical expertise, and analytical rigor to accelerate business performance in a mission-driven education technology environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Demand Generation Strategy: Develop and execute annual and quarterly demand generation plans in collaboration with Marketing and Sales leadership. Define priorities by market, customer segment, and product, establishing clear objectives, campaign ownership, performance indicators, and pipeline forecasts.
  • Performance Marketing and Paid Media: Own paid acquisition strategies across Google Ads, LinkedIn, social media, and other advertising platforms. Manage the annual media budget, audience targeting, budget pacing, campaign testing, and optimization to improve cost per qualified lead and marketing-sourced pipeline.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee campaign operations, content calendars, product launches, and multichannel marketing initiatives. Ensure every active campaign has a documented audience, objective, owner, and reporting framework.
  • Marketing Automation: Manage Salesforce Marketing Cloud operations, including audience management, segmentation, campaign scheduling, email deliverability, sender reputation, and form administration. Maintain accurate audience data across districts, schools, roles, and geographic markets.
  • Lead Management and Sales Alignment: Design and optimize lead generation workflows, from campaign engagement to sales notification and account executive handoff. Define marketing-qualified lead (MQL) criteria, lead-scoring methodologies, routing standards, and campaign structures in partnership with Sales and Revenue Operations.
  • Lifecycle and Nurture Marketing: Build and optimize lifecycle marketing programs for prospective and existing customers. Establish audience rules, communication cadence, suppression logic, and compliance standards to support acquisition, engagement, retention, and customer growth.
  • Funnel Analytics and Performance Reporting: Deliver regular reporting on leads, conversion rates, campaign performance, and marketing-sourced pipeline. Establish consistent metric definitions with Revenue Operations and translate results into actionable recommendations for Marketing leadership, Sales, and executive stakeholders.
  • Attribution and Measurement: Define and improve the multi-touch attribution model in collaboration with Marketing leadership. Connect advertising spend, content performance, organic traffic, and AI-powered search visibility to lead generation and revenue outcomes.
  • Account-Based and Territory Marketing: Develop targeting strategies and measurement frameworks for account-based marketing and territory-specific programs, adapting campaigns to the needs of different markets and customer segments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish a regular operating cadence with Sales leadership, field teams, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Content, Brand, and Events. Share campaign calendars, incorporate field feedback, and align messaging and targeting with business priorities.
  • Marketing Technology and Integrations: Define requirements for marketing systems, integrations, automations, and data infrastructure. Prioritize technical initiatives with Marketing leadership and Revenue Operations, coordinate with IT on implementation, and ensure appropriate access controls and security.
  • AI Adoption and Workflow Automation: Integrate AI tools such as Claude into daily marketing operations for analysis, campaign development, documentation, workflow automation, and reporting. Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve team efficiency through AI agents and low-code solutions.
  • External Partner Management: Manage relationships with advertising platforms, marketing technology vendors, agencies, and data providers to ensure effective execution, reliable integrations, and continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor campaign effectiveness, identify performance gaps, test new approaches, and recommend where to increase investment or redirect resources. Build scalable processes that strengthen lead quality, accelerate sales follow-up, and improve marketing contribution to revenue.
Requirements:
