Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Director of People Operations to lead and scale our People Operations function during rapid growth. You’ll own onboarding, HR tech, benefits, employee relations, and our internal knowledge base, guiding a team of Generalists and Senior Generalists who execute across the business.

This hands-on leadership role builds systems and standards that let a growing HR team scale without sacrificing quality, reporting to senior leadership and partnering with Legal, Finance,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including managing HR generalists, ideally in high-growth/startup settings.
• Experience owning HR policy development end to end, including Legal/Compliance partnership.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law (California; multi-state).

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, develop, and manage the People Operations team across the business.
• Own HR policy library end to end, including Legal and Compliance review and rollout.
• Oversee HR systems and vendor roadmap, including negotiations and integrations.
• Design onboarding, intake processes, response-time standards, and self-service resources.
• Own benefits design and vendor strategy in partnership with Finance and leadership.
• Own performance and compensation cycle process design and timelines.
• Build a culture of quality and documentation standards across the team.
• Automate HR processes and scale onboarding, offboarding, leaves, and benefits.
• Represent People Operations in cross-functional planning with Legal, Finance, IT, and Security.
