Join to apply for the Director, People Operations Excellence role at NAPA Auto Parts

This role is responsible for optimizing HR service delivery, payroll support, and people administration by leading strategic operational processes. The Director acts as the primary liaison between People Partners, the Employee Services Center, and Payroll, ensuring seamless issue resolution and process improvements. The role emphasizes operational efficiency through root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and self-service enhancements. The Director also oversees a team handling ticket escalations, payroll issues, HR reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic contact between People Partners, the Employee Services Center, and Payroll to drive HR service execution.
  • Ensure timely resolution of HR and payroll tickets, and implement process improvements for efficiency and employee experience.
  • Oversee payroll issue resolution, collaborating with Payroll and HRIS teams to improve accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop policies and controls to reduce payroll errors, streamline corrections, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Manage administrative processes such as severance, job codes, and position updates, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all people administration processes adhere to policies, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify recurring challenges in HR and payroll workflows.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline operations, improve self-service tools, and reduce administrative burdens.
  • Partner with IT and operations to enhance automation, self-service options, and knowledge resources.
  • Lead and develop the team responsible for HR ticket escalations, payroll issues, and administration support.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and present data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Oversee HR reporting, ensuring data accuracy, trend analysis, and actionable insights.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years in HR operations, payroll administration, shared services, or similar leadership roles in large, multi-location organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of HR service delivery, ticketing systems, payroll processes, and case management.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Ability to analyze HR and payroll data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Workday), and reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, employment laws, and payroll regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (green belt or higher).
  • Experience leading HR operations in shared service or multi-unit environments.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and workflow optimization strategies.
