Job summary

Per Scholas in the United States is seeking a Director, People Development to lead leadership enablement, performance management operations, and career development initiatives. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design programs, scale onboarding for new leaders, and advance an inclusive, high-performing culture.

The role emphasizes executive coaching, workshop facilitation, and data-informed decisions to improve learning engagement and employee growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Learning & Development or related HR fields.
• Redesigning or scaling performance management processes and building end-to-end management development pipelines.
• Ability to rapidly deploy ad hoc learning solutions in fast-paced or scaling environments.
• Strong workshop facilitation, executive coaching, and presentation skills.
• Passion for equity, inclusion, and developing others.
• Experience in high-growth nonprofit environments.
• Proficiency with data tracking, reporting, and insights related to learning engagement or performance processes.
• Comfortable facilitating small group sessions or training events.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and scale core leadership enablement programs for frontline managers, mid-level directors, and senior executives.
• Create onboarding pathways for newly promoted and hired people leaders, covering essential management skills, coaching techniques, and employment compliance.
• Equip leaders with tools to foster inclusive, high-performing team cultures, drive retention, and manage change.
• Drive and evolve the performance management (PAR) process to align with goals and strategy.
• Oversee performance cycles, feedback mechanisms, and goal-setting frameworks with equity in evaluation.
• Provide support during performance reviews with training and resources.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify and deploy targeted learning interventions.
• Support career development programs and professional development planning.
