Job summary

Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applications for a full-time Medical Director Section Chief of Pediatric Hepatology. Board-certified/board-eligible pediatric hepatologists with transplant experience are sought to lead CHoR's expanding hepatology and transplant programs.

The role includes academic appointment, collaboration with pediatric and adult teams, and leadership in research and quality improvement to advance liver care for children

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology (or eligibility).
• Transplant Hepatology certification or equivalent expertise.
• Advanced training and clinical expertise in Pediatric Hepatology.
• Experience caring for pediatric liver transplant candidates and recipients.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia.
• Commitment to academic medicine, teaching, and scholarly activity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the continued development and growth of pediatric hepatology services.
• Provide expert clinical care for infants, children, and adolescents with liver disease, including transplant candidates and recipients.
• Partner with transplant teams to strengthen and expand transplant services.
• Mentor faculty, trainees, and providers while promoting collaboration and academic excellence.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Oversee Liver Transplantation services within the section.
• Support clinical, translational, and outcomes-based research in hepatology and transplantation.
• Champion quality improvement and patient-centered program initiatives.
