Job summary

Stark Tech in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Payroll Director to lead all payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate compensation processing across salaries, bonuses, deductions, and benefits.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of federal and state wage laws, and collaboration with HR and finance. Experience with unions and UKG HRIS is preferred; ability to manage system upgrades and policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 5–7+ years of payroll management experience.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Familiarity with unions and collective bargaining agreements.
• Working knowledge of wage and hour laws at state and federal levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including salaries, bonuses, deductions and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures; manage payroll system upgrades.
• Coordinate with HR and finance departments; lead a team of payroll professionals.
