Job summary

CCBC seeks a Director, Pathways to lead and integrate Guided Pathways across high school to college transitions, credit and continuing education, and workforce-aligned programs. The role focuses on building instructional support structures, dual enrollment, CPL, and transfer pathways to advance student progression.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Academic Affairs, curriculum development, student success initiatives, academic pathways, or related fields, including leading student success initiatives or curriculum design or academic program design, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives with faculty, staff, academic administrators, and external educational partners.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders on Guided Pathways.
• Research and communicate innovations in guided pathways.
• Prepare and provide reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent the College with students, parents, and professional organizations.
• Lead the academic affairs efforts to provide instructional support for the integration of Guided Pathways across student academic progression.
• Collaborate with faculty convenors and program coordinators to align coursework across high school, credit, workforce and transfer programs to create clear, structured career pathways that ensure effective transitions among high school, degree, and workforce training programs.
• Lead and collaborate on initiatives that provide students with experiences, resources, and support to ease their transition from high school to college, between continuing education and credit programs, and from college to the workforce.
• Partner with faculty, advisors, and student services to ensure seamless student transitions across their academic progression via Guided Pathways.
• Work with K-12 schools, industry partners, and workforce development agencies to align academic programming with labor market needs.
• Coordinate the delivery of professional development through the Institute for Transformational Teaching, Learning and Leadership that supports Guided Pathways.
• Develop program evaluation measures and utilize data analytics to track student progress within pathway programs, identifying areas for improvement.
• Ensure continuous assessment of pathway effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for program enhancements.
• Manage the activities performed by Pathway Coordinators across the academic schools.

The Director, Pathways plays a critical role in supporting students’ academic progression through academic, transfer, and workforce by developing and managing instructional support structures, credit-bearing opportunities, and workforce-aligned programs. The director ensures seamless integration of high school coursework, dual enrollment, prior learning assessments, and workforce credentials within CCBC’s guided pathways, leveraging credit and continuing education integration. This role is essential in fostering a structured, supportive academic environment that equips students with the skills, credentials, and opportunities needed to progress successfully through higher education and into the workforce.

Minimum Qualifications- Required

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, required.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Academic Affairs, curriculum development, student success initiatives, academic pathways, or related fields, including leading student success initiatives or curriculum design or academic program design, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives with faculty, staff, academic administrators, and external educational partners, required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a community college or with community college student populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Guided Pathways principles and their application across academic programs, transfer, workforce education, continuing education, and student progression.
• Experience in one or more of the following:

1. developing or supporting academic pathways, transfer pathways, or workforce pathways, or
2. dual enrollment, secondary partnerships, or academic articulation agreements, or
3. Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), alternative credentials, stackable credentials, or continuing education integration.

• Demonstrated ability to develop measurable goals, evaluate program effectiveness, analyze outcomes, and make data-informed recommendations
• Teaching experience

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale
