Job summary

Charter Steel is seeking a Director of Operations Technology to lead and develop a centralized team across six facilities. You will shape the technology strategy, partner with Operations and Corporate IT, and drive improvements in reliability and performance.

The role requires 15+ years in manufacturing technology leadership, deep ERP/automation experience, and a track record of building high-performing teams while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology.
Ten+ years leading manufacturing technology, automation, or related functions.
Proven ability to develop leaders and high-performing technical teams.
Strong analytical skills to frame business issues and options.
Experience with budgeting, planning, analysis, and reporting.
Experience with ERP and Automation systems.
Ability to translate business needs into value-added technology solutions.
Knowledge of ITIL and NIST standards.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for Charter Steel's centralized Engineering, Automation and Controls organization.
Shape technology strategy aligned with business objectives and emerging tech.
Establish governance, operating rhythms, and performance metrics.
Partner with Operations and IT to improve execution and reliability.
Lead capital planning, vendor partnerships, and sourcing strategies.
Promote safety and continuous improvement culture across sites.
Drive reliability, security, and responsive service delivery.
Develop leadership capability and succession planning.
