Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an Operations Director to lead multiple distribution centers, manage customer relationships, and drive performance across a network of locations. The role requires regular on-site presence and significant travel to support sites and leadership across the network.

The ideal candidate will have a strong supply chain background, strategic leadership experience, and the ability to partner with site leadership, while managing a diverse portfolio of customers and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of experience within supply chain.
• 3+ years in strategy development, operations management, or org. design.
• MBA or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a management consultant or in a strategic supply chain role preferred.

Job description

This role is designed as an East Coast-based leadership position with primary oversight of operations in Atlanta, GA; Columbus, OH; and the future Lehigh Valley, PA operation scheduled to launch in 2027. Candidates residing in or willing to relocate to one of these key markets are strongly preferred to support business partnership, leadership visibility, and operational effectiveness.

Given the multi-site nature of the role, the Operations Director will be expected to maintain a significant on-site presence across the network. Regular travel is required and is anticipated to occur during approximately 50% of workweeks, with flexibility to support business needs, startup activities, talent initiatives, operational reviews, and leadership development efforts across all assigned locations.

This position requires a highly engaged, hands‑on leader who thrives in dynamic distribution and fulfillment environments and can effectively influence and support site leadership teams across multiple facilities and regions.

Director Operations

The Director of Operations has a national salary range of $150,000 - $200,000.

Job Description

We’re looking for an Operations Director to lead multiple distribution centers – each with individual customers who have their own sets of requirements. You’ll cultivate customer relationships, becoming an extension of their business and enabling DHL Supply Chain to play a required role in their success. You’ll be held to very high standards – because our company has set a very high standard in our industry.

Our ideal Operations Director has a full understanding of the importance of customer relationships – including the crucial role of the General Manager, Operations Managers and front‑line Supervisors in growing those relationships. This position is a critical link between each distribution center and senior leadership and is held accountable for the success and growth of the group.

Required Education And Experience

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, required
• MBA or equivalent, preferred
• 7+ years of experience within supply chain, required
• 3+ years of progressive experience in at least one of the following: strategy development and implementation, operations management, or organization design and implementation, required
• Experience as a management consultant or in a strategic role within a supply chain function, preferred
