Job summary

Muskingum University invites applications for a Director of Counselor Education. This inaugural role will lead the development of a fully online master's degree program with two tracks: Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling.

The program will be delivered in a virtual, cohort model with synchronous and asynchronous modalities. The Director will oversee curriculum design, staffing, accreditation, administration, and teaching responsibilities, with focus on CACREP standards and

Qualifications

• PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible for Ohio licensure as a clinical mental health or school counselor.
• Proven teaching excellence, especially in online environments.
• Experience with CACREP accreditation processes and reporting.
• Minimum of two years of full-time faculty experience in counselor education.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in remote/online environments with a strong sense of community.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the Counselor Education program across tracks.
• Lead CACREP accreditation efforts and ensure ongoing compliance with standards.
• Recruit, hire, and evaluate program faculty and instructors.
• Oversee curriculum development, assessment, scheduling, and faculty assignments.
• Design and lead synchronous experiences per cohort aligned with CACREP requirements.
• Manage the program's budget and operational planning.
