Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Director of Web-based Applications and Systems to lead the district’s website and related platforms, applying advanced knowledge and overseeing technology integration in instructional and operational contexts.

This senior role requires managing projects, budgets, cross‑department collaboration (CMS Communications, LMS, intranet), and safeguarding security and compliance while driving enhancements to usability and online presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, web design, multimedia, or related field required.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in program or project management required.
• Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience designing/developing web sites and social media integration preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district.
• Oversee district-wide technology projects and ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate web content and CMS, intranet, LMS, and ticketing systems.
• Manage the district websites' technical architecture including UI and multimedia.
• Develop and implement web development strategies aligned with objectives.
• Prepare project plans, status reports, and other correspondence.
• Oversee budget development and administration.
