Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Director of Web-based Applications and Systems to lead the district’s web platforms, LMS, and related technology ecosystems. You will oversee architecture, performance, and security while guiding cross-functional teams to deliver on instructional and operational goals.

The role requires strong project leadership, budgeting, and vendor coordination, ensuring compliance with policies and standards across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, web design, multimedia, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in program or project management.
• Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience designing/developing web sites and social media integration preferred.
• Experience with LMS, ITIL, and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate staff and programs.
• Oversee district-wide technology projects and budgets.
• Collaborate with departments on CMS, LMS, intranet needs.
• Manage district websites' technical architecture and UI.
• Ensure SEO, analytics, and online usability improvements.
• Develop SOPs, documentation, and budget administration.
• Prepare project plans and status reports.
• Coordinate cross-functional meetings and vendor relations.
• Ensure security, privacy, and licensing compliance.
