The Director, Night Warehouse will ensure a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with warehouse leaders and associates, delivering best-in-class service to customers, and maintaining safe and profitable operations. They will leverage their expertise in warehouse management to guide strategic decisions and ensure the safe, accurate, and timely processing of outbound products, along with facility security.

Shift: Sunday-Thursday Night

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Achieve safety, service, and cost targets; oversee all night warehouse operations; plan and execute short/mid-term objectives; participate in strategic planning and direct management actions.
  2. Promote a safety-first culture; champion safety procedures, processes, and training to prevent injuries.
  3. Develop Warehouse Managers through coaching, training, and leading by example.
  4. Oversee and develop warehouse associates; foster engagement and retention; embody US Foods values.
  5. Attract talent; plan staffing needs; monitor hiring and interviewing processes.
  6. Implement technology to improve operations, productivity, and compliance with regulations.
  7. Develop and refine production flow processes; identify improvements and cost-saving strategies.
  8. Monitor operational data; address issues to achieve high accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  9. Ensure product integrity and compliance with food safety standards and sanitation schedules.
  10. Oversee maintenance of warehouse and equipment in line with OSHA standards.
  11. In union facilities, assist HR and VP Operations with collective bargaining, discipline, grievances, and arbitrations.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision
  • Direct: Warehouse Managers, union/non-union clerical staff.
  • Indirect: On-floor associates including loaders, selectors, receivers, forklift drivers.
Relationships
  • Internal: Warehouse leaders, VP Operations, Transportation, Sales, other departments.
  • External: Vendors, customers.
Work Environment
  • Warehouse environment including cooler and freezer areas as low as -5°F.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of warehouse management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and development skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and related regulations.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with WMS is a plus.
Travel
  • Approximately 10% for meetings and training.
Preferred Certifications
  • HACCP and PCQI certifications are advantageous.
Physical Qualifications
  • Ability to perform activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and reaching as specified, with frequency levels indicated.

This role includes an annual incentive bonus and benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $160,000 depending on experience and location.
