University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Director of Veteran, Military and Adult Student Services to lead enrollment and retention efforts for veterans, service members, and adult students. This full-time role focuses on strategic planning, cross-campus collaboration, and ensuring correct benefits processing.

Responsibilities include supervision of staff, advising student organizations, and guiding programs that improve persistence and degree completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 3 years of experience serving veterans and/or military service members.
• Strong organizational, programming and event management skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GI Bills, federal and state laws and guidelines related to veterans’ education benefits.
• Experience with student success software (e.g., Navigate, EAB) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide visionary leadership in the administration, management and strategic planning for veteran, military service members, and adult students.
• Serve as a Veterans Certifying Official, managing GI Bill and related benefit processing.
• Supervise the Veterans Benefit Coordinator and oversee benefits applications.
• Direct the university support for student veterans, service members, and adult students and families.
• Develops and monitors the department's fiscal management.
• Lead hiring, training, and supervision of staff and student employees/interns.
• Advise the veteran student organization and chair related committees.
• Collaborate with campus units to promote belonging, retention and graduation outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and FERPA-compliant student records.
