Job summary

University of California, Santa Cruz is seeking a Director of Undergraduate Admissions to provide visionary leadership for multi-channel enrollment efforts. The role drives strategy for recruiting diverse first-year and transfer students locally, nationally, and internationally.

Reporting to senior Enrollment Management leadership, the director ensures policy compliance, data-driven decision making, and collaboration across campus, system-wide offices, and external partners to support UCSC’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.
• Admissions experience at fast-paced, high volume, complex institution.
• Experience in creating strategic recruitment and yield plans for residents, out of state, and international freshman and transfer populations.
• Experience developing admissions policies and processes with faculty committees.
• Experience in assessing, identifying, and implementing technical problems and solutions; ability to manage systems, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong leadership and collaboration abilities.
• Commitment to diversity and cultural competency in student outreach and admissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the office of Admissions, Enrollment Management and associated programs.
• Lead enrollment strategy across campus, UC system, and external partners; identify, recruit, and enroll diverse student populations locally and globally.
• Oversee budget and resource management to support enrollment objectives and efficient operations.
• Represent UCSC in public forums, conferences, and external relations to advance recruitment goals.
• Collaborate with faculty, departments and leadership to align policies with institutional enrollment priorities.
