Job summary

Timely Recruit Limited is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to lead transportation and roadway projects in the Chicago market. You will steer complex infrastructure programs, mentor teams, and build client relationships while delivering on strategic growth.

You will hold a Civil Engineering degree with an active Illinois PE license and bring extensive transport-focused experience to drive technical direction, project delivery, and business development across public-sector clients.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Extensive civil engineering experience, preferably in transportation and roadway infrastructure.
• Experience delivering projects for state and local transportation agencies.
• Proven leadership across engineering teams, major projects and client relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen and business development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale transportation, roadway and civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with public-sector clients.
• Drive business development, major project pursuits and market expansion.
• Provide technical direction across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop future leaders.
• Oversee project budgets, resourcing, delivery and financial performance.
